Thank you for visiting. Hi I'm Krista. I have resided in south Louisiana for the majority of my life. After spending more than 15 years as a nurse in a variety of specialties, I desired something more and found counseling to be complimentary role. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. I have private practice in the Gonzales area and work part-time at Cancer Services. I earned two degrees from Nicholls State University: Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and an undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Addictive Behaviors. I have completed Level 1 and Level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
When thinking of a name for my practice, I wanted a name that was part of a personal experience. From the second I saw the word cultivate, it stuck with me. When you cultivate something, you work to make something better. What would you like to cultivate in your life?
Working as a therapist is truly an honor for me. I love connecting with clients. I'm always seeking to become more knowledgeable and an attuned counselor. Outside of the office, I can be found appreciating nature, gardening, reading, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
Teen and Young Adult Counseling
The Cultivating Place can help your children with some of the challenges they face: depression, anxiety, peer pressure, self-esteem issues, cutting and self-injury, body image, family conflict, and academic challenges.
Individual Adult Counseling
Many individuals seek the support of therapy at some point in their lives. While these benefits vary from person to person, just beginning the process of therapy can help ease some of the isolation we all can feel when confronted with difficulties in our lives.
Counseling is beneficial for all stages of being a couple, from dating to second marriages. It focuses on connections and growing communication in the relationship.
